From Bethlehem to Bethany or The Story of a Sinless Life by Warren R. Fitch. (Syracuse, NY: The Mason Press, [n.d.], 178 pp.) Reverend Warren Rudolphus Fitch (1836-1917), No. 4504, was an ordained Methodist minister at Brier Hill, St. Lawrence Co., NY. He was also a merchant, Justice of the Peace, Town Supervisor, and Postmaster there. In 1873, he moved to Lowville in Lewis Co., NY, where he became editor and publisher of the Lowville Times.
The undated volume shown here contains a single poem in 26 parts, running 178 pages. It tells the life story of Jesus, beginning with an "Invocation".
Awake O Muse! With holy rapture sing
Of Him who came to Bethlehem a King;
And ending with:
Rejoice, O Bethlehem! now that you see
Him, glory crowned, ascend from Bethany.
